tethered is still fine if its IOS 5.0.2 use tethered for now untill untethered comes out... i will post links soon

There is a tethered jailbreak for it but it's not Recommended for new people.

or,

4th gen has cameras.
3rd gen is no camera and it has to be 16gb or more
2nd gen no camera, looks exactly like 3rd gen, but its 8 gb
1st gen no camera, and its super fat, and has a black bezel.

to chek the firmware go to settings>general>about, then scroll all the way down.
